Moving Forward
BRINgiNG THE LOVE OF GOD TO PERU AND BEYOND

Life is adventure! As you can imagine, the last few years of my life have been a transition period as I’ve learned how to live as a single man, moved from Alpharetta to Cumming, looked ahead to retired life, found new friends and relationships, and tried to accept change and new doors opening in life. Face to Face is also in transition but the overall mission continues—share the love of Christ through words and deeds. No matter where you are in life, change happens and it’s better to embrace it than fear it. It is so easy to get into a routine in life that can become a box where you hide in comfort and security. I’m all for comfort but I’m also for finding your voice, hitting your stride, and doing what you were put on earth to do. In the famous words of Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it!”
As this new Face to Face Missions site goes live, it is the day after Christmas here in San Juan, Puerto Rico where I am completing my federal government disaster assistance deployment. In mid-January I'll leave Puerto Rico and also leave the work world entirely. That's right...RETIRED!  I'm not thinking of retirement as sitting on the sofa watching TV (although I do love Saints football--WHO DAT!) I'm thinking of being more "refired" than retired. I'll certainly do things I want to do but I'll also be able to do much more with Face to Face. We are helping children in Peru now and there's much more opportunity there and elsewhere.  In addition, I've been accepted in the
Music for Healing and Transition ProgramOnce I've completed this training, I'll be able to use music to bring healing. While I'm looking forward to this, I'm also greatly looking forward to more mission trips with Face to Face. To that end, Puerto Ricois already scheduled!

As we look to future work, we will continue to share the message of God’s relentless love and unlimited grace  to bring hope and encouragement to so many people who have been through hard times in life. Whether it's putting a hammer to a nail, feeding a child, preaching a message or just giving a hug and a smile to someone who needs it, it's all sharing the Gospel because the Gospel, in a single word, is LOVE.
