You Can Help Puerto Rico!

In my role in federal government disaster assistance, I saw first hand the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria. The people of Puerto Rico were already facing hard economic times before Maria hit but now things are harder than ever.  You rarely see news stories about Puerto Rico's recovery anymore but  they are still in great need of help. Large organizations can make a big difference but the collective efforts of smaller organization can make an even bigger difference. Face to Face is bringing a team from July 21-29 that will join this small Army and we want you to be a part!

We will work with Catacumba 5 church in Magaguez, a church that has played an important role in relief efforts. We will rebuild houses in poor mountain communities, bring much needed mosquito nets to help families protect their children, and help lead a special evening service at the church. Beyond this, we will launch a project that has great potential: a hydroponics greenhouse that, once completed, will benefit the poor by providing fresh vegetables for a food bank the church administers. The pictures at left show a greenhouse built by Andy Luna , a good friend who will join us in Puerto Rico and oversee the greenhouse project. The solar-powered greenhouse will grow numerous plants that will produce a yield up to three times faster than plants in the ground.

YOU CAN HELP by one of two ways:

1) Come with us to Puerto Rico! The trip is from July 21-29 and the cost of $700 includes all expenses except airfare.

2) If you can't come, send a tax-deductible check to Face to Face to help us fund the greenhouse or help others make the trip. There are no salaries or other overhead expenses--100% of your donation will go to helping Puerto Rico. You can donate HERE.

I know this is very short notice as mission trips go but everything came together late. There is a core group that I've assembled but I would love to make it bigger. If you can go, or if you can help, please let me know!
